Introducing Alameda Chiropractor Dr. Christopher Pieda

Simply put, I was just ignorant. I admit, I knew nothing about Chiropractic. My very first exposure to Chiropractic care was at the age of 26. It had a profound effect on my life — to say the least! You see, I had been studying pre-med, with plans to head to medical school in hopes of becoming a medical doctor. I was brought up believing the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" model. I grew up playing sports and I would typically wait until some 'crisis' came up and then I would respond and get it 'taken care of. ' I didn't know that the words 'wellness care', 'prevention' or 'optimal human potential' even belonged in healthcare. I really didn't even know what this 'Chiropractic' thing was or how it could help me.
The days after my first adjustment and preliminary education about Chiropractic were exciting ones — and a little scary. I found myself questioning whether or not I was heading down the right path. It didn't take long for me to realize Chiropractic was what I was born to do. So much about it made sense to me, there was absolutely no turning back. The mind-body-spirit connection has always been at the core of my own belief system and it just so happens that it's at the core of Chiropractic philosophy. I believe in leading by example: living a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition, exercise and taking care of my body through Chiropractic. After all, if your body wears out where else are you going to live?
So, only months later I had completed my pre-requisites and enrolled at Northwestern College of Chiropractic. And in 2003 I graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology. Since then, I've focused my post-grad studies on pediatric and infant care because I believe wholeheartedly that it's easier to 'grow' healthy kids than to 'fix' broken adults!
We have a family practice and enjoy helping people of all ages reach their goals and true health potential. It's a lively, fun, practice that is full of energy... thanks to the kids!! I practice primarily diversified technique, which is highly modified for the gentle amount of force needed for the youngsters.
I believe in serving humanity, making a difference and living life to the fullest, so if our purpose aligns (no pun intended) with your personal goals, please do not hesitate to call upon us. I look forward to meeting you in person in the very near future.
Yours in great health,
Dr. Chris Pieda, DC & Family
